The story of the Spruce Grove Alliance Church can be traced all the way back to 1905 when it’s mother church, Glory Hills German Baptist was founded. It was from this church that 40 years later, five families felt compelled to move into the small village of Spruce Grove as there was very little gospel work being done in the area.

At first, the small congregation met for services in Ivan Jespersen’s home with Leslie Cockram as their pastor. Evening services were held at Spruce Grove High School. It wasn’t until the fall of 1946 that the first church building was completed.

During the 50s and 60s, Spruce Grove experienced very little growth in population. This static period led to the union of the Spruce Grove Alliance Church with the Stony Plain Alliance Church in 1952. They stayed united until the 70s came with an unexpected surge in population.

Now with 3 campuses, Spruce Grove Alliance Church continues to grow up , grow together, and grow out.
